Part 2

"What's it about? asked one co worker, as they turned the book every which way.

One co worker said, "Oh my God! You are like the male 'Auntie Mame'! I love it!.

"It's my memoirs," Jode said, happy that his employees like it so far. "Instead of 'Live! Live! Live!' like Auntie Mame, it's more like Fuck It! Fuck It! Fuck It!'.

With that, everyone laughed and agreed.

It just dawned on Jode that this is his Fuck It list.

The meeting ended after Jode made a small speech thanking everyone.

Jode sat down and sighed. He turned to the both of us, both of us sitting at this point. "That went well."

"Of course it did," I chimed, "they love you."

"Thank you for all your support and encouragement."

"You are welcome."

Part One

Jode Large, aka Mr Big, would be here any minute. Maybe. Chuckling to herself Karen Sweetheart, his personal assistant of 36 years, though she has known him since high school, Karen knew Jode like the back of her hand. He would be here when he got here, sweeping in like a breathe of fresh air.

Karen looked around the office. Everything looked in order, right down to the large flower arrangement on the conference table. It was somewhat arranged but he always liked to rearrange them to keep up on his skills. He had to since they just found out today they surpassed Flowers.com. There were a few other surprises but those were Jode's to tell.

The staff started trickling in. She greeted them each in turn. Taking her seat to the right of his, she looked over her notes to herself. One in particular made her heart sing. Finally after all these years and heartache, his next big dream was about to unfold.

Feeling a little like Radar From Mash, Karen's head lifted and she said, "Here he comes."

They all looked at the door the big burst of energy otherwise known as Jode, burst through.

"Good afternoon my friends," He said, his smile infectious. Sitting down he said, "Well, it's finally here."

"What is it Jode?"

"You'll see. Roger can you pass them out?"

In walked my husband, Roger Sweetheart, Jode's driver, bodyguard, and close friend, carrying a box. He started distributing the contents. Once done he came over to stand behind my seat, laying his hand on my shoulder.

"My friends, as you know the famous line ' a rose by any other name', well I present to you, my new book, RAT'S NEST. RAT'S NEST. RAT'S NEST."
